The Verde

The Verde is an interesting mixture of two different worlds. Just like Nimman One, it does a nice job portraying the look and feel of Europe, however inescapably in Thailand they both are.

The inside of this place is filled with all the fixtures of a 19th century London flat. There is a piano by the door – a typewriter basking in the sun’s glow near a window. You are also greeted by a man who has the grace of a seasoned butler.

The ambiance of the main room is set by the tone of soft jazz in the air. Lots of wooden furniture and books make you feel right at home. The staff is very friendly and take the extra step to help make your day be a little bit nicer. After leaving The Verde, your day most certainly will be.

The outside is a full garden that uses benches as seats and old wooden doors for tables. It is draped in welcome shade, and is rather quiet given how close it is to Nimman Road. It’s the kind of place that you can sit down and get some work done, if you choose. More likely than not you’ll just be taking in a deep breath with the ambiance.

I really must reiterate that the staff go the extra mile here. When sitting outside they turned on a fan, gave me a bottle of bug spray, and lit multiples mosquito candles.

That nice looking latte was 65 baht, flower included.
