Khao Soi Lung Prakit Kaat Gorm

Sometimes you taste something familiar and you’re view of what you thought it was completely changes. This is exemplified best with beef, not chicken Khao Soi.

It seems like a small difference. It’s just the meat that goes with the soup; essentially a pizza topping. It’s not. It’s so much more. Anyone who’s asked for a burger at a BBQ and been given a chicken breast between two buns can attest to this. The verbal onslaught I received when I told my German mate the stew I made was “like” Beef Bourguignon “but with pork instead“, comes to mind as well. the same goes for fish n’ chips, tarter sauce or malt vinegar, the decision changes the dish.

They serve chicken at Khao Soi Lung Prakit Kaat Gorm, but you should get the beef. I don’t know how they get it to be as soft and pink as it is, but I’ll remain happily ignorant as long as they’ll make it for me. It pairs well with the less rich beige and not yellow khao soi noodles they use here. Khao Soi Lung Prakit Kaat Gorm is also the only place I know that puts a proper serving of stewed beef in a noodle soup. I’m happy to hear your remedies to this situation.

This bowl of noodles really is one of my favorite things to eat in Chiang Mai, full stop. It’s the kind of meal that makes me feel like I’m a better person for having eaten it; improved somehow. I recommend all the food on this site, but I highly suggest you should seek out this one in particular.

A bowl will run you 40 baht.
